Christopher Hammerle, MD

Dr. Hammerle is a native of California and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine. He then completed medical school at Saint Louis University and did his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Colorado. After residency, he remained on faculty as Associate Professor of Medicine before moving to Charlottesville to complete a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Hammerle received advanced training in Interventional Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was also involved in clinical research. He and his family arrived in Boise in the summer of 2012, when he joined IGA.

Brian Story, MD

Dr. Story is a native of Montana where he received his undergraduate degree from Montana State University in Bozeman. He then completed medical school at the University of Washington and a medical internship at the Boise VA hospital. He continued his internal medicine residency training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He joined Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in the summer of 2013. He practices all aspects of general gastroenterology and hepatology with special clinical interests in management of biliary tract disease and Barrett’s esophagus. He is trained in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and Barrx ablation of the esophagus. Dr. Story strives for a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to medicine. He believes that being a good listener provides the foundation of a positive patient-doctor relationship. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, hiking, golf, and spending time with his family.

Bonnie Kim Waite, MD

Dr. Waite received her medical degree from the University of Washington and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Internal Medicine, Spokane in 2000. She joined Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in the fall of 2003, after finishing a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Dr. Waite enjoys travel, skiing, reading, and hiking with her husband, son and her dogs.

Matt Sericati, MD

Dr Sericati received his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado-Denver. He joined Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in the fall of 2009 after completing his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Colorado-Denver. He and his wife Stacy have two boys. His hobbies include skiing, biking, golfing, softball and flying.

Akshay Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta completed his medical school from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, India. He did his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. He then went on to complete a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. He was in private practice for a year in Wichita, KS, before moving to Boise in 2013 and joined IGA. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, kayaking, mountain biking and travelling. He is married to Dr. Neetu Talreja, an Allergy Immunology physician practicing in the valley. He has a special interest in clinical research, and is currently an investigator in several clinical trials.

Robert Lockwood, MD

Dr. Lockwood is a native of Alabama where he received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University. He completed medical school at the University of South Alabama. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Vanderbilt University. He received further training in therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, and therapy for Barrett’s Esophagus at Vanderbilt University. His primary clinical interests include pancreaticobiliary disease, Barrett’s Esophagus, and general gastroenterology. In his free time, he enjoys hiking with his wife and their dogs, skiing, and fly-fishing in and around Idaho.

Kirsten Morigeau, MD

Dr. Morigeau (MOR-jo) received her medical degree from the University of Washington and completed an internal medicine residency at Portland Providence Medical Center in Portland, OR. From there, she and her family worked serving the Quechua of Peru at Diopsi Suyana Hospital for 2 years prior to completing a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at University of Texas, San Antonio. She joined Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in the summer of 2018. Dr. Morigeau is fluent in Spanish, dedicated to providing quality, evidenced-based care and enjoys shared-decision making with her patients. In addition to general gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Mo has received special training in sacral nerve stimulation for fecal incontinence. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 kids in the outdoors, biking, rock climbing and culinary experimentation.

Erin McCoy, MD

Dr. McCoy is a native of California and attended the University of Notre Dame for undergraduate studies prior to attending New York Medical College. After residency is Los Angeles at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, she moved to San Francisco to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at California Pacific Medical Center. Upon graduating in 2016, she stayed on to work for the Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. Dr. McCoy moved to Boise and joined IGA in the summer of 2020. In her spare time she enjoys jogging, Pilates, cooking, and exploring Idaho with her husband and two children.

Justin Tomal, MD

Dr. Tomal grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He completed medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago. He then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Tomal treats all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, but he has a special interest in eosinophilic esophagitis, hemorrhoid banding, and colon cancer screening. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors, exercising, and reading.

Victoria Jaeger Portrait

Victoria Jaeger, DO

Dr. Jaeger (Jay-ger) is a native of the Treasure Valley. She graduated from Eagle High School, and then received her undergraduate degree from Grove City College in western Pennsylvania. She completed medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine, a chief resident year, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Texas A&M University/Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX. She also completed the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s residency program. She returned home to Idaho and joined IGA in the summer of 2023. Her primary clinical interests include promoting gut health through nutrition & lifestyle modification, colorectal cancer prevention, and general gastroenterology. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, exploring the Idaho mountains, vegan baking, and spending time with her husband Joey, their two daughters, and their dog.

Oswaldo Bisbal Portrait

Oswaldo Bisbal, MD

Dr. Bisbal received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. He then completed an internal medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York. In addition, he is sub specialized in advanced endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and ERCP for pancreatobiliary pathology. He joined IGA in January 2024 where he moved to Boise with his family. He is bilingual and enjoys spending time outdoors.

John Dever Portrait

John Dever, MD

John Dever, MD, was born and raised in Washington DC. He was director of gastroenterology at Saltzer Health/Intermountain Health in Idaho until operations ended in March 2024. He joined IGA in 2024. He is a board-certified gastroenterologist who focuses on wellness, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, optimal patient experiences, colon cancer prevention, brain-gut disorders, and longevity. Dr. Dever was clinical faculty at UC San Diego School of Medicine from 2015 to 2022 and trained medical students, residents, and fellows. Prior to leaving, the Department of Medicine (DOMCAP) voted unanimously for his promotion to Associate Clinical Professor. His research has been published in multiple top peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Dever had the highest adenoma detection rate (67%) among peers, received the highest teacher rating and was an appointed mentor for the UCSD Bridge Program for Scholars. Dr. Dever was also a member of the patient safety committee. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, and traveling.

Mark Dell’Aglio, MD

Dr. Dell’Aglio graduated from Hahnemann University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA in 1985 followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Robert Packer Hospital/Guthrie Clinic in Pennsylvania. Before returning there to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology in 1992, he spent two years practicing Internal Medicine in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Utah. Prior to his move to Boise, he had worked in Tacoma, WA for eight years, and Billings, Montana for 16 years as a gastroenterologist. He began working with IGA in 2017. He works as a hospitalist, primarily seeing patients in the hospital. He enjoys Idaho and the mountains and explores them with his wife, Trinjia, and their dogs.

Jennifer Leonard, NP-C

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwest Nazarene University. She was working in critical care for 5 years before she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University. Prior to joining Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in 2015 she was working at University of Washington Digestive Disease Center. She is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice. In her spare time she enjoys biking, camping and fishing with her husband.

Tish Davis, PA-C

Tish received her Master of Science degree from the University of Colorado Health Science Center Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant program in Denver, Colorado in 2004. She worked in Family Practice for over 12 years prior to moving to Idaho with her family in 2017. Tish joined Idaho Gastroenterology Associates in the spring of 2018. She and her husband have three children, including boy-girl twins. She enjoys camping, biking, cooking, reading, travel, and spending time with her family.

Amber Gorham, PA-C

Amber Gorham is originally from Lexington Kentucky where she received her bachelor’s degree of Physician’s Assistant studies in 1996 from the University of Kentucky. She graduated with her master’s degree in PA studies in 2000 from the University of Nebraska. 13 years of her career was spent in the emergency room. She moved to Idaho in 2015 after spending 10 years in Iowa, the other “I” state. She worked as a hospitalist then joined IGA in June 2021 where she can blend her previous clinical experiences. She enjoys skiing, spending time with her husband, 2 children and her dogs. She feels blessed to live in our beautiful state. She is aspiring to learn Japanese in her off time.

Jeremy Gardner, NP-C

Jeremy received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University. He worked as an RN for 6 years in critical care and endoscopy before joining IGA in 2022. He received his Master of Science in Nursing in 2022 from Gonzaga University. Prior to nursing, Jeremy spent 9 years in the Navy as a Rescue Swimmer conducting MEDEVAC and SAR operations. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and son in the outdoors. He also enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, hunting, and fishing.

Edward Hatrick, NP-C

Edward received his master’s in nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2017. He specialized in sleep medicine for 3 years prior to starting with IGA in June 2022. Prior to obtaining his advanced degree, he worked as a registered nurse for 4 years in the Emergency department. Edward has special interest in functional GI and the role of diet and lifestyle modification in gastrointestinal disease. His personal interests are in health and wellness which keep him active hiking. He also enjoys reading and traveling. His father, two sisters and his nephews still reside in Houston where Edward previously lived. He has a brother that lives here locally.

Kathleen Sonnen, PA-C Portrait

Kathleen Sonnen, PA-C

Kathleen attended the University of Idaho where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2020, Kathleen graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She previously worked in otolaryngology prior to joining IGA in 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, stand up paddling boarding, and reading.

Stephanie Maar Portrait

Stephanie Maar, NP-C

Stephanie Maar obtained her ARNP degree from Boston’s Simmons College with a background of twenty-three years of critical care nursing experience. She recently moved to Idaho’s Treasure Valley, joining IGA, with a six years of gastroenterology experience . She spends her free time training and hunting with her Weimaraner's and enjoying the outdoors.

Josh Pric Portrait

Joshua Price, PA-C

Joshua grew up in the treasure valley, where he graduated from college of Idaho. After college of Idaho he completed his MS in Physician Assistant studies at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also acquired his Diploma of Tropical Medicine. He previously worked in Post-Acute care in the Coeur d’Alene area after graduating before returning to the Treasure Valley. He enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, hunting, fishing, and reading in his free time.

Barry Shinsel Portrait

Barry Shinsel, NP-C

Barry received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from BYU-Idaho. He worked as an RN for 8 years on the post-surgical floor and endoscopy. He received his Master of Science in Nursing in 2022 from Gonzaga University. Prior to his nursing career he was a Master Diver and SCUBA instructor. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys watching and playing sports, especially baseball.
