At Idaho Gastroenterology Associates (IGA), we take digestive health seriously, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun along the way!
We’re excited to introduce Gus the Gut, IGA’s official mascot and newest member of our team!
Who Is Gus?
Gus is more than just a friendly face. He’s here to help us make digestive health education approachable, engaging, and maybe even a little entertaining.
Let’s face it—talking about digestive issues isn’t always easy. Whether it’s persistent heartburn, an upset stomach, changes in bowel habits, or scheduling that first colonoscopy, some conversations can feel uncomfortable.
That’s where Gus comes in!
With his playful personality and recognizable smile, Gus helps us break down barriers and encourage open conversations about digestive health.
A Mascot on a Mission
Gus has an important role at IGA: helping our community recognize the importance of digestive health and feel more comfortable taking the next step toward care.
You’ll see Gus popping up in our educational campaigns, community events, social media, and patient resources, helping us:
Raise awareness: Shine a light on common digestive symptoms and the importance of knowing when to seek care.
Promote prevention: Remind our community that colorectal cancer screening, beginning at age 45 for most adults at average risk, can save lives.
Make education engaging: Share important digestive health messages in a memorable and approachable way.
Encourage conversations: Help remove the embarrassment or hesitation that sometimes comes with discussing GI concerns.
Serious About Care. Not Always So Serious About Ourselves.
Behind Gus is a dedicated team of gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers committed to delivering quality digestive healthcare throughout the Treasure Valley.
While Gus brings a little humor to our messaging, his purpose reflects something we believe deeply: Everyone deserves to feel comfortable asking questions, understanding their health, and getting the care they need.
Whether he’s hitting the slopes, going for a run, or reminding you that it’s time for your colonoscopy, Gus is here to make digestive health a little less intimidating.
So, the next time you see Gus around town or on your screen, give him a wave!
He’s here to remind you that at IGA, we love your guts!
