Last weekend, some of the IGA team joined patients, families, caregivers, and community members at Boise’s annual Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Take Steps Walk.

While the event is centered around a walk, it’s truly about something much bigger: supporting the millions of people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and advancing research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Take Steps program is the organization’s largest fundraising event, helping accelerate research breakthroughs while providing education, advocacy, and support resources for patients and their families.

At IGA, we have the privilege of caring for many patients living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. We understand that IBD is far more than a digestive condition, it can affect every aspect of a person’s life, from work and school to relationships, travel, and overall well-being.

Events like Take Steps serve as a powerful reminder that no one should have to navigate these diseases alone.

One of the most inspiring parts of the day was seeing patients, providers, caregivers, and advocates come together with a shared purpose: creating a future where people living with IBD have access to better treatments, stronger support systems, and, one day, cures.
