Infusion Therapy

A safe and effective way to deliver medications directly into the bloodstream through an IV. It is commonly used to treat gastrointestinal conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and other inflammatory disorders when oral medications are not sufficient.

In addition to medication infusions, we also offer IV hydration therapy to help patients manage dehydration related to digestive conditions, illness, or recovery.

Preguntas frecuentes

Infusion and IV hydration therapy may be used to manage a variety of gastrointestinal and related conditions, including:

  • Crohn’s disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  • Autoimmune-related digestive disorders
  • Severe dehydration related to GI illness

During your infusion appointment:

  • You will be seated in a comfortable infusion chair
  • A trained nurse will place an IV line, typically in your arm
  • Medication will be administered over a set period of time (often 1 hour to several hours)
  • Your vital signs and response will be monitored throughout treatment

Many patients choose to read, work on a laptop, or relax during their infusion sessions.

  • Faster and more effective medication delivery
  • Targeted treatment for inflammation and immune response
  • Reduced gastrointestinal side effects compared to oral medications
  • Improved symptom control and disease management

The frequency of infusion therapy depends on the medication and your specific condition. Some treatments are given every few weeks, while others may be scheduled at longer intervals as part of a long-term care plan.

Your provider will develop a personalized treatment schedule based on your diagnosis and response to therapy.
